4 Signature Wines and Wineries of Washington hosts many events, including special tastings for most major national holidays, the Spring Barrel Tasting, Vertical Estate bottling tastings, Catch the Crush, and Thanksgiving in Wine Country. As enjoyable as the experience is at the winery, it is the meticulously crafted wines that capture the hearts of aficionados and new wine lovers alike. The Tanjuli vineyard grows Pommard Pinot Noir, Lampia Nebbiolo, Carménère, Mourvèdre, Aglianico, Sagrantino, Teroldego, Viognier, Picpoul Blanc, Orange Muscat, and Black Muscat. Wines are at once old and new, with elements that tickle the imagination yet feel familiar. Rare varietals fascinate the palate while better-known varietals offer a similar, remarkable experience. In addition, we have commenced the process for organic certification. Throughout the year, Tom and Hema, who is a pharmacist, are hands-on in the vineyard, tending and pruning the vines. At harvest, they're in the vineyards, helping pick grapes. Photograph by Tom Campbell deep connection with the land only strengthens the couple's appreciation for all the work needed to craft wine. In the winery, Tom smells the actively fermenting tank or barrel as he creates, on his unfolding adventure to craft even more distinctive wines. Above all, the Campbells appreciate the vivid sensory excitement that comes with drinking wine, how each bottle can evoke memories as you draw the aromas in, and how, when you share a bottle with loved ones, it becomes the foundation of a new memory to cherish for years.
