129 Intuitive and precise, Ben Krupinski, principal of Ben Krupinski Builder, possesses an innate understanding of the terrain and the people of his native of East Hampton, New York, where many of his stately designs grace lush landscapes. Perhaps unsurprisingly, with this intuitive understanding, he built his first home: his personal residence. Carrying out all the tasks himself— including digging the hole and pouring the concrete for the foundation—Ben discovered his passion for home building. Along with some help from his wife Bonnie, he found that building homes allowed him to spend his days outside and gave him the satisfaction of working with his hands. Early in his career, Ben easily mingled with many people in the homebuilding industry while working for his wife's sand and gravel company. A request from one such acquaintance to install a window provided the impetus to start his business in 1980. Today, his firm is one of the go-to building companies in the Hamptons, and Ben himself is easily recognizable there. A perfectionist and an extremely hard worker, Ben is known for his attention to detail and superior communication with homeowners. Never one to sit in an office, Ben can frequently be found working onsite alongside his craftsmen from start to finish.
