A
lively weekend dinner in a New England coastal home is a
common sight. But when the guest is the homebuilder from five
years ago, the scene becomes a bit more unusual. Yet this is exactly the
kind of relationship that Glenn Farrell and his team at YFI Custom Homes
maintain with the homeowners—one of friendship and communication
amidst a close-knit community.
Glenn got his start in real estate as a CPA advising on real estate projects,
but began to desire more tangible results from his work. Given his
longstanding love and knowledge of woodworking that he gleaned from
carpentry work during college, Glenn moved first toward building spec
homes and then to custom homes.
Through partnerships with only the best architects and subcontractors,
Glenn has used his excellent organizational skills to create a team that
seamlessly builds homes. Glenn and his team have become experts in
beautiful, sustainable construction, which is evident from his first project
more than 20 years ago with a closed-loop geothermal heat pump to his
recent involvement in Builder20, a group of builders who share ideas and
news about new products and techniques.
