CASSIDY
gourmet pairings
The complex mix of flavors
in a Thai red curry pairs
perfectly with the vanilla and
spice notes of the Grenache-
Mourvèdre blend. Serve over
confit duck legs on a bed of
forbidden rice.
tasting notes
Cassidy is a blend of Grenache and Mourvèdre, but also a blend
between California and France: it's ripe and rich like a Californian
wine, but also elegant and balanced like a French Rhône. The
terroir on the estate vineyard in west Paso Robles allows for
this unique balance between ripeness and acidity. A ripe and
juicy Grenache delivers strong red fruit flavors and long-lasting
mouthfeel, and an earthy and spicy Mourvèdre provides color,
tannins, and complexity.
winemaker's insight
The Grenache and Mourvèdre fruit come exclusively from the
organically farmed estate vineyard in west Paso. The Grenache
block has been dry-farmed since 2014. The vines are all head
pruned like most vineyards in southern Rhône (i.e. Châteauneuf
du Pape), with a lot of work done by hand during the growing
season to enhance maturity and prevent diseases. The grapes
are hand-harvested, and then fermented separately in small
batches, allowing Winemaker Bastien Leduc to precisely select
the perfect composition for Cassidy.
