INSPIRED MODERN HOMES
ABOVE: The ceiling over the entryway is the bottom of the cube
structure you see from the home's front exterior. We used clean
shapes and classic materials—walnut, aluminum, oak—to create
a timeless design.
LEFT: Take a look through the floating stairs and you'll see the
water in the back of the home. The sightlines and sense of
weightlessness give the sensation that you could actually reach
through the stairs, creating a calm openness in the space.
FACING PAGE TOP: There is a butler's pantry and a separate
walk-in pantry in the kitchen, plus a large island, and eye-
catching Ann Sack tiles. The room has a 15-foot ceiling and a
corner window that overlooks the intimate courtyard, giving an
open feel with tons of natural light. Because the glass comes
right up to the counter, it feels like you're in the courtyard, too.
FACING PAGE BOTTOM: To create clean lines, we designed the
floors to come right up to the wall, and stainless-steel reveals
hide electrical outlet plates. The fireplace has stone copper
panels that connect to the glass and shows off a cantilevered
blue-stone slab hearth. The overall result is a seamless look.
