SANFORD PINOR NOIR,
SANFORD & BENEDICT VINEYARD
gourmet pairings
The savory nature of sous vide
beef ribeye steak—featuring
a quick pan sear—pairs well
with the terroir while the fat
of the steak balances out this
structured wine.
tasting notes
The Sanford & Benedict, estate grown, Pinot Noir entices with
aromatic spicy red fruits, complemented by notes of earth and
dried herb. The palate delivers earthy raspberry flavors with lush,
silky texture. The bright acidity and supple tannins give the wine
great structure and length.
winemaker's insight
The iconic and historic Sanford & Benedict Vineyard contains
the oldest Pinot Noir vines in Santa Barbara County. Between
the history and the amazing quality of the fruit, many consider
this site deserving of Grand Cru status. To allow the vineyard to
shine through, the team takes a gentle approach in the cellar,
using traditional Burgundian techniques that include open-top
fermenters and hand-selected French oak barrels.
