tasting notes
In the glass, the signature Delfina's Pinot Noir, "The Reserve"
displays aromas of herbs and flavored tea, cherries, and
baking spices. The palate has a velvety entry displaying finesse
and elegance that a great Pinot can provide. This wine is an
experience, offering notes of plum, cherry, tobacco, strawberry,
earth, and minerality. It is balanced, and has a smooth finish with
sweet tannins and sweet fruit.
winemaker's insight
This wine, in true Blair fashion, was made without a refractometer
and depended solely on Jeffrey's palate. He selected, in
the vineyard, just enough fruit for five barrels worth of truly
exceptional Pinot Noir. These were the grapes destined to
become The Reserve release. At most only 125 cases of The
Reserve is produced each vintage.

APPELLATION: Arroyo Seco
COMPOSITION: 100 % Pinot Noir
MATURATION: 100 percent new Seguin Moreau and Francois Ferre
French oak barrels, 25 percent Puncheons, and 75 percent 60-gallon
barrels, and then aged for 14-15 months.
CELLARING: Phenomenal now but can be cellared for seven to 10 years.
