103 Seven Angels Cellars TEMPLETON The single biggest influence on the creation and day-to-day operations of Seven Angels Cellars is simple: family. It's what inspired it, fuels it, and gives it a promise of a bright future. Started by Greg and Pamela, the winery has its roots in the founders' childhoods. Each of them has had a lifelong passion for food and wine that began with their upbringings. Pamela was raised in a family of foodies and cooks, and took college courses in oenology as a young adult. Later she would own a catering business, teach cooking classes in Hollywood, and work on a TV show as an assistant home economist. Greg grew up in rural Southern California, surrounded by neighbors who were no strangers to grape growing. His natural curiosity and patient neighbor allowed him to spend many hours in the vineyard, soaking it all in. Stationed in the Bay Area during his stint in the Coast Guard, Greg was in close proximity to some of the state's best vineyards. He explored and educated himself on all things wine. When the couple got married, Greg continued to express his desire and passion to become a winemaker, and they both agreed it was time. In 2009, Greg and Pamela contracted their first grapes for Seven Angels and made a Petite Sirah. Seven Angels Cellars takes its name from the blending of Greg and Pamela's families. When they met, Greg had four children and Pamela had three; together, they have seven. Hence the name. Family is a priority in their lives, and all decisions made center around their love for family and time spent together. That care and passion comes through in the wine.
