Aleksander Wine by S & G Estate
PASO ROBLES
If passion and commitment had a flavor, they would most certainly taste like
Aleksander wine. The winery was built on a dedication to excellence, and a
pure love of winemaking is apparent in every bottle.
Aleksander was started by Aleksander "Sasha" Vujacic, a two-time NBA
Champion with the Los Angeles Lakers and his family. He began cultivating
his love of wine during the early stages of his career in Italy alongside his
father, Goran. They set out on a mission to fulfill their dream of finding a small
parcel of well-situated land, where they would establish a family winery and
integrate their passion and knowledge of European winemaking to produce
a unique Bordeaux style blend. They wanted to bring together European and
Californian characteristics.
Set in the El Pomar region of Paso Robles, Aleksander's grapes are grown on
S&G Estate, a 30-acre parcel purchased by the family in 2009. Home to more
than 600 Mission olive trees and 13 acres of Bordeaux varietal vineyards, the
estate is nested within the slopes of the region and is known for its calcareous
soil and Templeton gap breezes. These conditions are ideal for the seven
acres of Merlot, three acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, and one acre of Malbec,
Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot each—all used to produce Aleksander Wine.
