The Riva Ranch Vineyard Chardonnay is a beautifully rich,
yet balanced California-style Chardonnay that has aromas of
grilled pineapple and graham crackers. This wine has a creamy
mouthfeel and a great core of acidity.
winemaker's insight
The Chardonnay is sourced exclusively from the Riva Ranch
Vineyard in Arroyo Seco, in California's Monterey County. Arroyo
Seco—where Wente has been growing grapes since third
generation Karl L. Wente purchased the vineyard in 1961—is
heaven on earth for the cultivation of Chardonnay. The deep,
well-drained gravelly soils and a prevailing cool climate allow for
slow and even ripening of this expressive wine.
