tasting notes
Moderately fruit forward, this wine is big and bold, filled with
savory notes. Opulent layers of black currants, wild blackberries,
and green peppercorn carry through to the palate, which is
accented by firm tannins and a rich mouth feel. A long lingering,
velvety finish is reminiscent of an aged, first-growth Bordeaux.
winemaker's insight
The grapes for the Allegretto Cabernet Sauvignon comes from
the Willow Creek sub-appellation in Paso Robles. This is one of
the most coveted areas in the United States for growing ultra-
premium Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes are destemmed
and then fermented in small open-top containers. After the
fermentation is complete, the wine is aged in specially designed
French oak barrels that are made only for Allegretto.
