gourmet pairings
Pairs beautifully with blue
cheese crusted filet mignon,
sautéed morels, and a side
of double baked Yukon Gold
potatoes.

tasting notes
Containing an average 36% new oak, this wine presents layers of
complexity. Plum skin, Bing cherries, and boysenberry aromatics
explode upon first inhalation. Defined, velvety tannins pair with
mocha and raspberry jelly on the palate. Spiciness dances with
nuances of white peppercorn, finishing in layers of crisp cherry
tart dessert.
winemaker's insight
This wine contains 100 percent estate-grown Merlot—there
are 35 acres of Merlot on the Donati Family Vineyard property.
Whole berries undergo primary fermentation in stainless steel
tanks, and complete malolactic fermentation in oak barrels. From
the various lots of clone and rootstock combinations, the best
barrels are cherry-picked and reserved for the program.
