tasting notes
From its dark color to its enticing aromas of black currant,
blueberry, and cherry, this lush and inviting wine offers a beautiful
snapshot of what makes Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon so
exciting. As it evolves, barrel bouquet notes of hazelnut, cocoa,
and roasted coffee are revealed. On the palate, high-toned red
berry flavors are underscored by bright acidity and a compelling
structure that is both dense and soft.
winemaker's insight
The fruit for the Seven Oaks Cabernet Sauvignon is
predominantly grown in the estate vineyards located directly
opposite the lovely J. Lohr Paso Robles Wine Center, and at two
newer sites to the north. The soils vary from gravelly clay loam
to limestone-based soils, and the team planted a thoughtful
selection of rootstock and clonal combinations to maximize the
expression of each site.
