195 Valley, and is the state's first premiere wine-production region with a winemaking history that dates back to 1777. Today, the Lightpost portfolio focuses on exploring the endless potential of the diverse growing conditions that the best Central Coast vineyards offer. The winery draws from tradition but embraces the future, and utilizes the unique gifts from the earth to craft wines that are a true representation of each terroir—all while featuring Christian's distinct winemaking skills that won him Winemaker of the Year in San Luis Obispo County. Lightpost Winery is poised to bring exceptional wines and engaging experiences to locals and visitors. Single-varietals wines, Rhone, and Bordeaux-style blends are created in limited lots, displaying exquisite varietal character. It includes voluptuous full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon with deep lush color; power- flavored and elegant Pinot Noirs; European-style Chardonnay with mineral-fresh notes; and smooth and rich Chardonnay. The tantalizing trio of white Rhone varietals features Marsanne, Rousanne, and Grenache Blanc. The Albarino has plenty of minerality and freshness on the palate, accompanied by elegant and seductive sparkling wines. Within its production, the winery features three tiers of wine, offered under two different presentations. Premium category wines featuring Mr. and Mrs. Lightpost are fun, festive, and ready for everyday celebrations, but also worth cellaring. Reserve Wines come in traditional, elegant packaging, made from special sites with additional aging, exclusively stored in French oak barrels. The Burgundy tier expresses the beauty of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grown in the cool climate of Santa Cruz Mountains, Santa Lucia Highlands, Edna Valley, and Santa Rita Hills. The Bordeaux tier celebrates the classic and traditional style of western Southern France and the joys of adventure with its collection of blends of single vineyards from West Paso Robles, Santa Clara Valley, and Santa Cruz Mountains. The Rhone tier represents the pioneering spirit of small-lot wines made from Syrah and Grenache grapes grown in the Paso Robles and Santa Clara Valley region. Unique tasting experiences that showcase the decadent fruit of Santa Clara Valley and Central Coast cool-climate vineyards make it a must-visit winery destination.
