THE MODERN RESIDENCE
BELOW TOP & FACING PAGE: The homeowner is an avid art collector, so we designed a white, understated interior as not to take
anything away from the artwork. This elegant, neutral look also complemented the midcentury modern furniture throughout the house.
Originally the home had a formal compartmented layout, but we reconfigured the plan to let the spaces flow and give an airy feel
to the interior. The traditional French doors were replaced with oversized glass-sliding doors to reveal the long, stunning views from
anywhere in the house. White cabinetry and rich brown Ipe decking was used as a nod to the yachts that can be seen on the water.
The raked-limestone lining in the powder room and fireplace mantel echo the sand ripples of the surrounding dunes and beaches.
