THE MODERN RESIDENCE
BELOW: We designed the Chilmark Meadow Residence for a collector of Frank Lloyd Wright, so we focused on craftsmanship
and organic connection to the natural landscape at the exterior of the home. We implemented low-profile roof lines and natural
materials including wood, granite, glass, and metal. Adjacent to the front entrance is the artist's studio where we added clerestory
windows to bring in natural indirect light from all four directions during all seasons.
FACING PAGE: Both the design and outdoor spaces were crafted to capture views of important existing site features, including
a 200-year-old, hand-built stone wall; an expansive meadow; a glacial boulder; a vernal pond; and a small grove of apple trees.
