THE MODERN RESIDENCE
TOP: We carried key design details throughout the Chilmark house, including the stone piers and walls that anchor the structure; the piers are battered on
three sides to accentuate the supportive nature of stone. Other signature elements repeated throughout are the mitered corner and clerestory windows and the
low-pitch profile of the "razor edge roof" that appears to float. We also eliminated all window and door trim on both the interior and the exterior, celebrating
simplicity and an efficient connection without decoration.

BOTTOM: The design of the interior spaces fosters a sense of calm by utilizing natural materials that are joined with clean details as well as comfortably
proportioned spaces.
