Nahra Design Group
WASHINGTON, DC
At Nahra Design Group, nothing is forced. The Washington, DC-based firm
is a collaborative group of architects and designers who work on projects
that range from modern to traditional, and operate under the premise that
design should feel natural. Without allegiance to any one style, the team—
led by John Nahra—creates what makes sense for the site, and offers an
organic appeal. Using the environment as the framework for every home,
the architects and designers capitalize on a few key elements: space, light,
and surrounding views. The clients' personal details and lifestyles are key, of
course, and they often bring an array of ideas. Those are also thoughtfully
interpreted into the home. The homeowners become an important part of
the team throughout the design-and-build process. Every design begins with
a traditional method: sketching. The client's vision is drawn out in multiple
ways and then the process of narrowing begins to find exactly what the
homeowner wants.
The full-service boutique architecture firm is made up of a core group of
architects and interior designers working together in a creative studio
setting. John founded the firm in 2010 and has been inspired by his team
and clients. For this project in particular, the team sought the counsel
of Lavinia Fici Pasquina. The Italian-born architect collaborates with the
team and brings innovation and forward-thinking ideas, in addition to her
European perspective.
