They encourage the effortless flow of the movement within the layout. We used slate roof with accent copper for the roofs. ABOVE LEFT: The floating staircase serves as the spine of the house, connecting all three levels. It is surrounded by a stone wall that extends the full height of the house and three-story window wall. ABOVE RIGHT: A connecting passage sits above the mudroom and has views of the garden below.
