THE MODERN RESIDENCE
BELOW TOP: Where the living level does meet the bay level, nothing is spared. The entry stairs are integrated into what is effectively a grand, cedar-planked
amphitheater, turning entering and exiting into a leisurely pastime.
BELOW BOTTOM: Here the porch is an extremely practical and efficient means of tempering the harsh sun and weather conditions on the island, but perhaps more
importantly it is a habitable interlayer: blurring the distinction while framing the transition between inside and outside.
