THE MODERN RESIDENCE
BELOW: The lush tropical surroundings of Miami's Coconut Grove neighborhood played a central role in the design methodology of this newly constructed home as
did the intense South Florida sunshine and balmy climate. The front façade is clad in native coral stone and punctuated by the sky blue eyebrows over each window
to alleviate the heat of the southern-facing exposure.
FACING PAGE TOP: An inviting front porch with its large planting area, garden wall and wood ceilings creates a cool and comfortable outdoor room. Together, the
wood, stone and clean lines create a tropical modern residence.
FACING PAGE BOTTOM: In the main room, we brought Miami's outdoor appeal inside the house with north-facing doors and two-story windows that look out to
the pool. The double-height space was designed to showcase a family heirloom: an antique Venetian chandelier..
