THE MODERN RESIDENCE
BELOW: Our goal was to design this house in a way that addresses its unique location while working in a language that's within
the tradition of South Florida modern architecture. The front is designed to emphasize the entrance by positioning the openings
and simple, smooth textures in such a way that focuses the attention on the transparent center of the house. The material palette
is kept at a minimum and a series of layered planes allows us to both direct views and reduce the prominence of the garage doors.
These doors are treated as another abstract surface that blends in with the adjacent walls, matching the color and texture.
FACING PAGE TOP: The interior view of the master hallway, like many of the spaces inside, was designed to always end with a
framed vista to provide visual connections to the outside and bring in natural light.
