THE MODERN RESIDENCE
BELOW & FACING PAGE: When we designed a modern home that has three public sides—two street-facing and one toward
a golf course—the main challenge was creating privacy for the homeowners. The first thing we did was to conduct a tree
survey to preserve and utilize as many of the mature trees as possible, since they provide lush, natural cover. For the pool and
outdoor living space, it was imperative that it remain hidden from the golf course, so we designed a long, linear stone wall that
complements the architecture, but maintains the owners' privacy.
