THE MODERN RESIDENCE
BELOW: Riverglass is inspired by the transparent reflections captured in the unique setting on the Thornapple River that features a 200-degree water view. The
entry makes a dramatic statement with its sculptural three-story atrium that separates the public and private spaces of the home. The exterior's Western red cedar
lends warmth to the 6,300 square-foot dwelling while expansive glass offers up a constant conversation with nature.
FACING PAGE: We thought about this house as a threshold to the river whereby the architecture unfolds gradually into the landscape, providing a continuous
experience from the inside to the outside. A deep overhang creates a transitional resting place for the outdoor patio area.
