BELOW TOP & BOTTOM: Seeking to enrich lives and the living experience, our primary goal was to preserve and reimagine a 1950s home
as a continuum of architectural history and engineering science. Our design-build team acquired a property in Arapahoe Acres, a midcentury
development consisting of 124 similarly designed homes originally conceived as contemporary, affordable, family-centric housing. Placing
daily, family interaction at the center of decision making, the redesign envisioned a prototypical home that was classically stylish in disposition
and forward- thinking in environmental embrace. The home achieved a sustainable goal of net-zero living through the incorporation of
geothermal and photovoltaic energy generation systems. Combined with smart home features, the house can respond to changing conditions
and owner desires to be more efficient and provide a higher level of comfort.
