Steelhead Architecture
PORTLAND, OR
"Steelhead" refers both to the building material and to the
intrepid fish often associated with the Pacific Northwest—a fitting
name for the versatile architecture firm founded in 2010 by Gabriel
Headrick, AIA. Steelhead Architecture believes in the sustainable
co-existence of the built and natural environments while taking a
regional modernist view of architecture that sees the beauty both
in our rivers and forests as well as our industrial landscapes.
The firm's wide-ranging experience includes many types of
projects—Gabe and his team thrive on variety—from custom
modern homes, to multi-family residential, breweries and pubs,
mixed-use and commercial work, and beyond. They prioritize
green building and high-performance construction, including net
zero, Passive House, and LEED rated projects.
As a small creative design firm, Steelhead's clients experience
a thoughtful and personal approach, with the firm acting as a
guide and friend to navigate the design and construction process.
Client's are encouraged to bring ideas to the table and feel
comfortable being active participants in the design process. A
perfect project is achieving a beautiful, well conceptualized design
while facilitating a creative and enjoyable process and forming
lasting relationships.
