THE MODERN RESIDENCE
FACING PAGE & BELOW: Nicknamed "the flying wing" by original architect Harry Gesner, this house built for a
lumber magnate became a showcase for wood, including a structural system of wood poles. After being literally
saved from the wrecking ball, we set out to liberate the home from its heavy walls and have every room open up to
its spectacular 270-degree views.
