THE MODERN RESIDENCE
TOP: The elevated, seasonally closable guest house is mineral in nature, poetically connecting it to the land. It is constructed of fiber-
reinforced concrete siding and steel, and its translucent, thermo-plastic doors form a mysterious, ghost-like effect at night.

BOTTOM: The main house, seen in the background, is clad in the same local Douglas fir that surrounds it, stained grey to match these
sun-bleached driftwood logs that litter the coast.

"Through compelling
geometry and tall open
spaces that frame the ocean
and forest, a home becomes
a room without walls from
which to enjoy the pristine
and ever-evolving landscape."
