19 Allegretto Vineyard Resort PASO ROBLES The Allegretto Vineyard Resort is an inspiring, joyful, and inclusive place where guests engage in exceptional experiences, spaces, services, and amenities. This is the vision of Douglas Ayres, a keen observer of cultures and traditions, whose affection for humanity and its quest for the divine manifests in each design choice—from the specific architectural footprint, measurements, and ratios of sacred geometry, to the color and tone of each light bulb. This passion plays out in the art and ancient artifacts that fill the hallways and gardens, reflecting multiple cultures and faiths that serve as windows into the human experience. Ayres grew up in Newport Beach and studied religion and music at the University of Southern California before embarking on a busy career in sound recording and design prior to joining the family business. While many accommodations offer guests a physical and mental escape, Allegretto focuses on emotional and spiritual rest. The concept of harmony weaves through the entire property via the abundance of spiritual art and antiques. For example, the driveway has a large rose-compass fountain that welcomes guests, and the lobby features an impressive chandelier hung from a painted ceiling that represents light from heaven; and the Sequoia Room is anchored by a Gothic hearth and displays an imposing cross-section of a felled 214 BC. Sequoia tree. Lavender-scented pathways lead to Via Verona adorned with statues representing some of the world's sacred traditions, among them are Ganesh, bodhisattva Guan Yin, and the Virgin of Guadalupe.
