TH
OF JULY WEDDING
Exquisite
Held over the Fourth of July weekend, the wedding was a perfect blend of Indian tradition and
American pride. The sangeet kicked off a total of seven events, each more spectacular than the last,
with a true Texas barbecue and a hookah bar on the deck. Red, white, and blue décor, accented with
pops of Indian-inspired marigold, formed the beautiful backdrop for a spread that included carving
stations, mac and cheese, coleslaw, and signature drinks like the Pink Popper and Brandontini. Guests
were asked to arrive in all-American western wear, while the bride and groom wore cowboy boots
with their traditional Indian outfits. During cocktails, a personalized red carpet photo op greeted
each guest and became their takeaway gift from the couple. To everyone's surprise, the non-Indian
groom arrived during his baraat on a camel, accompanied by a dhol player and mobile DJ. We
had previously coached him and his 15 groomsmen on the moves, and his level of commitment
was admired by everyone. Transforming the temple from the ceremony to the reception was a
choreographed marvel. Everything, right down to the flatware and centerpieces, was done in 20
minutes flat.
