Having so many distinctive events within one wedding allows the couple to play with décor ideas
and present their guests with more than one overall look. While the sangeet was a riot of color
and patterns, the reception presented a coolly modern palette of pastels broken up by varying
textures. Guests were encouraged to visit different tents during the sangeet to retrieve food and
favors, mingling with friends and family and furthering a sense of movement. Simple centerpieces
made up of tablas and turbans must have been inspiring, since later in the night guests took it upon
themselves to accessorize with them. Sometimes being the savior of the centerpieces is part of a
coordinator's job description! At the reception, the many different layers of glass, fabric, and flowers
added visual interest and kept the design from appearing too monochromatic. On the contrary, the
assorted reflective surfaces and candles placed in eye-catching clusters illuminated the numerous
crystals embedded throughout the design and added a breathtaking sparkle to the room.
