A destination wedding is the perfect blend of an intimate celebration and a mini vacation. After
several road trips with the couple, we discovered Belle Mer in Rhode Island and just knew it would
be the ideal location for their wedding. Experiences like venue scouting provide invaluable time to
learn about what the couple wants for their special day. Not only did the seaside venue encourage a
seamless flow from ceremony to cocktails to the reception, it was located in a quaint New England
town that provided the visiting guests with plenty of fun activities, including a scavenger hunt to help
them discover the area. Masterminding a destination wedding allows me to build new relationships
with vendors, and that always results in fresh ideas. It was great to work with Perfect Surroundings
to create first a traditional sangeet—complete with Rajasthani-style print tablecloths—and then a
traditional ceremony, before the bride changed into her white gown and we moved to a crisp, navy
and white themed reception complete with a phenomenal dessert table.
