BACKYARD CEREMONY Beautiful
The sentimental value of hosting an event at home is immense. It also comes with a whole host of
logistical challenges and proves why it's crucial to hire a coordinator: so you don't get stuck trying
to implement a plan B instead of just being free to enjoy the party. While couples may not want to
be in charge of the entire wedding, it does add another layer of personality when they contribute
handmade elements. Perhaps the couple wasn't exactly crafty when the idea to make some of the
items for their wedding first struck, but by the end they certainly proved that when two people work
together they can make something phenomenal. Making their own programs and water bottle labels
and collecting with their friends the wine bottles and corks that comprised the table number stands
and placecards brought the bride and groom closer together. The natural, relaxed atmosphere of
the home's backyard made the guests feel extra-special, since it obviously couldn't accommodate
hundreds of people. Chiffon tenting over the seating area and mini bottles of water—with those
lovingly handmade, monogrammed labels—telegraphed that the guests' comfort was a priority.
