2 INSPIRED INTERIORS BELOW TOP LEFT: When we worked with a young family in the Nashville suburb of Hendersonville, it was important to maintain the integrity of their midcentury modern home. This bonus room had a fire box, so we kept that idea and used the in-wall wood as a design element. The natural touch adds to the comfort of the space. BELOW TOP RIGHT: Set on the historic Belmont Boulevard, this 1908 four-square home is as beautiful as it is fun. Because two young boys live here, we wanted them to feel welcome in every room—no space is off limits. You'll notice the hopscotch rug, floor poofs, and wood floors that are ideal for skating and racing cars. The dining table was designed to take marks and scratches, blending them in to add to its patina. We added about 2,800 square feet and made sure the family room suited them and their beloved dogs. We used a custom modular sofa and custom-built cabinets that conceal two large televisions—ideal for a couple who loves gaming and entertainment.
