BELOW & FACING PAGE: Recent transplants to Tennessee, my clients wanted to merge their classic New England aesthetic with a more laid-back Southern feel. Working
with the existing neutral tile and gold fixtures, I installed a blue mosaic tile border around the tub. The simple addition packs a punch, both in modernizing the bath
surround and showcasing the room's updated color palette. A soft spa-blue hue rejuvenates the vanity, while the gorgeous wallcovering by Anna French—with its subtle
paisley pattern—lends a sense of sophisticated tranquility. Painting the storage towers an ivory-white minimized their visual impact, allowing the new gold mirrors and
wallpaper to take center stage. Plantation shutters above the tub are a nod to the home's locale and further emphasize the classic-meets-casual look of the entire room.
