A background in architecture informs Cheryl's current designs, which tell a distinct story for each
person that inhabits them. An intimate relationship between site and space, with daylight reigning
supreme, is the foundation. Simplicity is worth the extra effort, Cheryl believes, along with nothing
designed in haste is designed well. From cabins and cottages to family compounds, Cheryl and her
team—there's a satellite office in Wisconsin—work hard to ensure that their houses not only speak to
the clients' comforts, motivations, and strengths, but also impart their stories. Knowing that homes
represent a person's values as well as embody their heritage and culture make them an opportunity
to celebrate both the individual and their community. A well-designed and well-made home
improves many lives, in many ways.
