4 INSPIRED INTERIORS
LEFT: Built and designed by a local top architect, this home kept its clean,
contemporary aesthetic through a new f ront door and surround of leaded glass
design that's reminiscent of the desert. A custom wool rug directs your attention
to the seating grouping, which remains light and bright through neutral colors.
BOTTOM: The desert views are complemented by natural materials, especially the
redwood ceiling which makes the vast room feel cozier. Two seating areas—one
for conversation by the fireplace and the other for watching TV—are connected
through matching sofas, helping the space to appear f riendlier and more usable.
FACING PAGE: A request for more color doesn't have to mean bold choices in paint.
The great view onto the patio and golf course beyond is highlighted with a warm
sand color on the walls, accented by native ledge stone and a copper fireplace
surround. Pocket doors that open completely erase the line between indoors and
out, making the room ideal for entertaining. Rich wood brings the ceiling down to
a more personal level.
