LEFT: The lady of the house wanted a morning room just for herself, so we
renovated the sun porch, which has three exposures. Her passions include music
and reading—you'll notice sheet music on the lampshade and a designated
space for her favorite books. She also wanted to make sure her rescue dogs were
comfortable, so we chose a sofa that wasn't too tall and had no arm rests to make
it easily accessible for them.
ABOVE LEFT: We designed a contemporary living room for a couple of empty
nesters to relax. The TV is nearly hidden above the linear fireplace and this room
is ideal for enjoying music. You'll see the homeowners' passion for music reflected
in the art piece—its shape mimics a music note. Favorite books are also important
here and are on display.
ABOVE RIGHT: As you enter the foyer, there is little to stop the eye f rom following
sight lines to the rear of this home. Infused with Japanese design elements, the
entryway connects the living areas to the quiet spaces. You'll notice other Asian
elements, such as the Chinese carvings on the wall and nature-inspired light
fixture, that add to the overall Zen quality of the home.
FACING PAGE TOP: Set in a 1910 Augusta home, the bar space was an important
area to this child-f ree couple who enjoy having f riends over. It includes barstools, a
pair of comfortable arm chairs for a conversation spot, and a wall bar for the extra
guests to belly up to. Semi-sheer shades filter the light and provide privacy f rom
the street.
