226 INSPIRED INTERIORS ABOVE: When a New York City post-grad wanted to update her childhood bedroom with Old Hollywood inspiration, the space became full of black and white glamour with strategic pops of color and lots of polished finishes. Lucite furniture accents keep the space airy and balance the glossy black lacquered and polished metal pieces. Old cabinetry was replaced with a luxe uniquely two-tone velvet sofa, creating a sitting room for relaxing and entertaining friends. Bold art bring the final statement of interest and fun to the room. FACING PAGE TOP: As part of a master suite renovation, the space was reimagined to give the bedroom and sitting areas the view to the lake. Classic tones of grey and white simplify this master bedroom, while warm wood tones amplify the space. The space is accented with tones of charcoal and black, and adorned with curated, unique accessories. The marble feel of the wallpaper pays homage to the adjacent bathroom countertops and is aesthetically pleasing in the space. A cozy niche covered in scrumptious fabrics offers a place to decompress and relax at the end of the day. The art is part of the homeowners' private collection. This room was honored with the top National Award Design by IDS. FACING PAGE BOTTOM: Designed to be a home away from home, this guest suite is inviting with a suite-style layout. Neutral tones envelop the space and are accented with bold black fabrics and fun accents. A cozy sitting room was designed with a sectional upholstered in luxury Romo fabric, a leather ottoman by Arteriors, and custom art from the Netherlands to add flair. Room-darkening Schumacher drapery panels are ready when needed, but the owners rarely want to shut out this view of the lake.
