374 INSPIRED INTERIORS TOP LEFT: We chose a 60-by-60-inch custom-stained coffee table in a weathered oak to coordinate with the nearby dining table. Its two-tier design allows room for everybody in the family to gather and put their feet up or eat a meal while watching the big game. Photograph by Unique Exposure Photography TOP RIGHT: We designed a highly functional home office while creating plenty of storage and interest. The original windows stayed and we built around them, allowing for natural light to pour in. Lights above the windows serve as accents and offer extra lighting for late-night work. Two desk areas allow for plenty of workspace, and low-slung seating works as a comfortable resting place that doesn't clutter the floorplan. BOTTOM LEFT: At 72-by-72 inches, this beast of a dining table had to be carried in by six men and assembled on-site. Its white-oak neutral tone and traditionally shaped base allow the rest of the bold decorating choices to shine. Notice the hot pink wallpaper on the back of the built-in china cabinet, faux-fur bench, and zebra-striped chairs. Photograph by Michael Hunter Photography BOTTOM RIGHT: In a contemporary home that was already filled with organic design elements, a concrete coffee table served as the ideal solution. It withstands the busy household that includes five children, three dogs, and two parents who manage to keep it all together. The grey concrete, light-colored rug, and grey upholstery on the sofas keep the space light and airy among the mayhem. The custom pouf under the table is perfect for the Mrs. to pull out and prop up her feet.
