ABOVE AND FACING PAGE: To take full advantage of the almost 270-degree views and minimize the removal of the
beautiful live oaks, we carefully oriented the Red Sky Residence, which sits on a 12-acre parcel. Low-maintenance, natural
materials were used to reflect the personality of the site and play on the beauty of the elements. The exterior features
a mix of Brazilian redwood siding, or Massaranduba, and stucco. Massaranduba is a tough, rich-colored wood that is
as stunning as it is practical. Sustainable elements include solar panels and a galvalume roof for optimizing rainwater
collection.
RIGHT: Page Gandy f rom 3-Fold Design Studio worked with us to create the interior aesthetic that the homeowners
wanted. Because the family had a young daughter, it was critical that all the furniture and design elements be sturdy
and easy to clean. Gandy did a beautiful job of using the architecture to inform her choices, all of which emphasized the
outdoors. She took the home's spacious rooms and gave them intimacy and warmth with her lighting and furniture
selections.
