ABOVE & LEFT: Just as with fine art, lines and patterns are important in architecture. For a modern kitchen, we
were inspired by the rectilinear forms of a Mondrian painting, which you can see in the geometric repetition
of the space. You can also see the appeal of strong lines with a catwalk suspended f rom the great room roof
trusses that connects the upper floors of the home's two wings.
FACING PAGE: Practical and traditional, this home has a story-and-a-half great room in the center that
connects the entry pavilion and primary-suite wing, pictured on the right, with the garage and children's
bedroom wing on the left.
