ABOVE: Georgian is among the most enduring styles of American building, having dominated the English colonies for most of the 18th century. This Georgian Revival
home has a centrally located entry featuring delicate sidelights. Wood columns support a semi-circular portico with a spindled balustrade above. The exterior cornice
was inspired by Philadelphia's Independence Hall. The f ront entry door is flanked by sidelights and a terminating transom, inspired by the doorways of the Society Hill
neighborhood in Philadelphia.
FACING PAGE: The cornice with decorative f retwork is based on the cornice of Cliveden, also located in Philadelphia. An entry hood with brackets shelters the door to the
studio space above the two-car garage while a shed dormer with flanking pedimented dormers introduces light to the second-story studio space. A generous loggia with
centrally located fireplace is created with a series of Tuscan wood columns that connects the garage with the main house.
