ABOVE & LEFT: I wanted to make the Hayes Residence feel effortless, as if it was floating in the forest. Using repurposed wood and energy-conserving techniques,
the vacation home becomes a cocoon of insulation in the winter with moving protective insulated curtains. The home transforms with the seasons while remaining
perpetually in the shade yet never touching the ground. I see this home growing in the grove, where rivers shed trees of light in shades of green.
