ABOVE: The client wished to simplify the home's overall design, as the architectural style was too ornate for their taste. The home's exterior plaster was resurfaced and
recolored, and bullnose corners were added while columns and elaborate architectural details were removed. The f ront entry was transformed into an arched opening
with a plaster and tile surround. A new, custom f ront door comprised of glass and a wrought-iron pattern of a tree and branches was installed, with the window above
getting a redesign as well.
FACING PAGE: The interior remodel involved updating windows and doors to allow for more light into the rooms, the removal of unnecessary arches and columns, and the
installation of custom cabinetry and new lighting. The master bath was opened up, and a custom resin tub, designed and fabricated by the interior designer, was placed
at the center of the room. As an extra flourish, the tub's bottom was outfitted with fiber optics that allow it to light up and change colors. The French doors were equipped
with electric glass that turns opaque at the flip of a switch.
