ABOVE & FACING PAGE: The Hi-Tec Ranch home is located on a rural site. This sprawling, 14,000-square-foot home with equal indoor-outdoor space defines sustainability—
we built for the future, today. The focus on sustainability was based on natural daylighting, ventilation, shading, and the use of solar energy, water collection, recycling, air
purification, and mechanical automation. Completely self-sufficient, the residence has the largest solar array possible on a single-family home. The estate-sized property
is just as sustainable as the home, with an entry sequenced with meandering, organic-shaped ponds that double as large cisterns to provide water for plant irrigation. All
the plantings are Florida-native and drought-tolerant to reduce the need for irrigation.
