ABOVE & FACING PAGE: Our sustainable approach worked well on the Harper Bunk House. In order to build a minimal, modern home that was as efficient as possible,
we opted for sustainable materials and techniques. For exterior walls, we chose ICFs (composite insulating concrete forms) finished off with a stucco exterior and a plaster
interior finish. Made with more than 60-percent recycled material, this ICF is reliably resistant to common household concerns, making it an ideal way to insulate the home.
Natural, energy-efficient materials are found throughout the house, including poured concrete, glass, wood, and stone. Even the landscaping was designed with a no-fuss
approach, reflecting the site's natural vegetation.
