Greensboro, NC
ABOVE: This architecture draws inspiration f rom the vernacular buildings of England and the simple farmhouses of rural France. The home features advancing and
receding gable masses with stone slate roofs and is clad in limewashed brick. The main hipped stone slate roof features dormers with casement windows.
FACING PAGE: A swimming pool with limestone coping edges is located within a generous grass parterre, shielded f rom the rear of the dwelling by boxwood hedges.
Another view of the f ront elevation shows a small garden parterre with a fountain. The rear loggia, which is used for outdoor dining, features a series of Tuscan limestone
pilasters and columns. A projecting gable punctures the roof line with a centrally located casement window and dovecotes above. The recessed main entry to the home is
delineated by a limestone surround; the glass door references the medieval technique of diagonal windowpanes.
