You'll see this approach in all the homes I work on, including the Cliffside Residence (previous page.) During the design of the Live Oak Residence, a massive oak tree limited our
building space on the Wimberley lot. I supported and encouraged the homeowners to keep the tree, even though removing it would have made things simpler. Thankfully, they
agreed to do so and we were able to focus most of the major spaces on that tree.
