ABOVE: "Biophilic," in short, translates to the love of life and/or living systems, and this concept was central to our core design agenda of elevating personal health, mental
wellbeing, and energy independence. Green roofs, interior plantings, solar PV, abundant natural light, and natural and durable materials comprise the home's defining
features.
FACING PAGE: Abundant daylight washes warm native white oak, cherry, and cedar in subtle contrast to dark accents, while softened by vegetation and abundant views
merging interior spaces with the natural surroundings. A splash of cobalt blue glass (recycled f rom Skyy Vodka bottles by a local artisan) is a nod to the home's place in the
Blue Ridge mountains.
